This exhibition was directed towards celebrating and translating the essence of the horse. The work is made with materials that come directly from the horse, such as hair from their mane and tails, felting created from harvesting shedding winter coats, trimmings from a horses hooves and chestnuts [small callosities on the inside legs of horses] and materials associated with horses, such as feed bags or grass that they eat. These works elevate and infuse new life into these often discarded materials. The strong singular forms evoke the presence of being next to a horse or forms that are en masse to create a pattern, like a herd seen from afar. These works balance the patterns of nature such as the swishing of a horses tail with the formalism created with my hands.
